Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Here today, we came together to celebrate a few days before MayDay which is unity, struggle and solidarity day of working class, express our demands and our problems, reinforce our solidarity.
Media workers will be on a mission around Istanbul and Turkey, especially around Taksim. Therefore we will not create a cortege in Istanbul this year.
On Thursday, we will follow actions, events and celebrations in all areas, streets and workplace, if the police use violence, we will document it and bring forward the demand of workers on our news.
However, we have some demands as being part of the working class.
Today, we use the words like censorship , repression , expulsion , arrest, mobbing , harassment, police violence and poverty, while describing the situation of Turkish media. Media workers are being worked in the status of illegal worker without 212, because workers coming together, being organized and using the power from solidarity make bosses and the government scare.
We have a news for them : we will change the existing media layout.
The power of news with news reporter; the power of news reporter with the union’s will increase!
